The small print —
with nothing hidden in it.

Six clauses, written at the kitchen table in language we can understand ourselves. They are the same rules we would want as customers — no more, no fewer.

  1. § 1

    Reservations

A reservation is binding once we have confirmed it by e-mail or phone — and it binds us just as much as you. We don’t take deposits; we believe a handshake in writing holds.

  2. § 2

    Cancellation

Cancel free of charge up to 14 days before the stay. After that, half the amount is due; for no-shows, the full amount. In weeks 28–30 and around public holidays the deadline is 30 days — with five spots, a late cancellation can rarely be filled. If your dog falls suddenly ill, we will of course work something out. A grooming appointment can be cancelled free of charge until 6 p.m. the day before — after that, half price. And if your dog turns out to be too big for the salon (over roughly 15 kg), we cancel at no charge.

  3. § 3

    Payment

Payment is at pick-up — MobilePay, card, or cash. For stays over 14 nights we settle up week by week as we go. Prices are on the front page; surcharges and discounts are listed in the same place, in the same font size as everything else.

  4. § 4

    Illness & liability

If your dog falls ill, we act as described under practical info — the vet’s bill is yours, the driving is ours. Your statutory third-party liability insurance covers whatever your dog gets up to; our business insurance covers whatever we get wrong. Belongings from home are kept at your own risk.

  5. § 5

    Extended stays & uncollected dogs

If your travel plans come unstuck, ring us — we have never yet said no to an extra night. We always ask for an emergency contact in Denmark. If we hear nothing for 14 days after the agreed pick-up and can reach neither you nor your contact, we involve the municipality and a shelter. It has never happened, and we would very much like to keep it that way.

  6. § 6

    Inspection

Strandhunde is registered as a boarding facility with the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration and receives unannounced inspections. We are insured with Topdanmark and registered under CVR 41 22 89 03. The papers hang in the utility room, next to Sofia’s drawings.

In short: we behave properly, and we expect the same of you. Everything else is a detail we can sort out over a cup of coffee.
