The practical part,
before the tail arrives.

Our guests share the sofa, the garden, and the water bowls — so we don’t compromise on vaccinations. Your dog needs the core vaccination against distemper, infectious hepatitis, and parvovirus, and a kennel cough vaccination no later than 14 days before arrival.

• Bring the vaccination certificate — or send us a photo in advance
• Leptospirosis and rabies are recommended, but not required

Not sure what the certificate says? Send us a picture of it — Yevgeniya reads veterinary handwriting fluently.

We have baskets, blankets, bowls, and spare leads in generous supply. The most important things to bring are the ones that smell and taste of home.

• Food for the whole stay — ideally measured per meal, or in its original packaging
• Medication with a clear dosing plan, if your dog takes anything regularly
• A collar or harness with an ID tag — we add a Strandhunde tag alongside it
• Their own blanket, or a jumper that smells of you — it helps on the first nights
• Vaccination certificate and insurance details, if we don’t already have them

Toys are welcome, but at your own risk — Bjørn collects balls, and his bookkeeping is unreliable.

The hours follow the dogs’ rhythm — on weekdays between 9 in the morning and 4 in the afternoon we are at the beach, in the garden, or in the middle of a nap, and we’d rather not interrupt any of those.

Yevgeniya is a trained veterinary nurse and catches most things before they become anything. If a vet is needed all the same, we ring you first — and if we can’t reach you, we drive and tell you afterwards. We use Greve Animal Hospital, eight minutes from here.

• The vet’s bill is yours — the driving is always free
• Regular medication is given at no charge, including eye drops and the kinds that require patience
• Small things that settle with rest and a watchful eye — we’ll tell you about those at pick-up

The law is short here: your dog must be registered in the Danish Dog Register, microchipped, and covered by the statutory third-party liability insurance. Put the insurer and policy number in your enquiry, so we have it if anything happens.

We, in turn, are registered as a boarding facility with the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration and receive unannounced inspections — the papers hang in the utility room if you’d like a look.

Females in season are welcome, but ring first — with five guests we can almost always plan around it. We take puppies from five months, once the vaccinations are in place. And seniors with stiff joints and set routines are some of our favourite guests; Roman is awake at night anyway.

Yevgeniya’s little grooming salon lives in the utility room — warm water, gentle shampoo, and no rush. Grooming can be booked together with a stay or entirely on its own; your dog doesn’t have to board here.

• Small and medium breeds only — up to about 15 kg, like the guests of the house
• The beach bath takes about 30–45 minutes, full grooming 1–2½ hours depending on the breed, small services about a quarter of an hour
• Appointments at drop-off 07–09 or pick-up 16–18 — also without a stay, by arrangement
• Same vaccination requirements as our day guests — see section I
• Matted coats can take extra time — we always ask before the scissors meet the fur
